Material
The Macpac Dragonfly 400 is made from 800 loft 90/10 ALLIED Feather + Down HyperDRY Goose Down for the filling, 100% Nylon (10D) — bluesign® approved for the lining, and Pertex® Quantum 100% Recycled Nylon (15D) for the main fabric. True to its reputation of making high quality gear for New Zealand conditions, Macpac have focused on durability for the outer with their Y Fuse technology.
Comfort
Macpac have done a few things to make this a comfortable sleeping bag, starting with box baffles to decrease cold spots. They have also gone with a mummy design which isn’t so small that you end up feeling claustrophobic and compressing the down (thus losing it’s warmth). Despite a clear focus on keeping the weight down, they have only shortened the zipper enough to easily get out of the sleeping bag while also keeping the foot space warm. And finally, the adjustable hood with concealed drawcords means you can snuggle up in the cold nights, or let loose when it’s extra warm.
